The Mason Law Firm, P.A., with offices in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and Edisto Island, South Carolina, has a position available in its Mount Pleasant office for an associate attorney.
The associate attorney will primarily provide legal representation to a single major client of the firm engaged in the wholesale acquisition of loan portfolios from major lenders, the closing of the purchase of notes and assignment of mortgages, the representation of the client - creditor in bankruptcy court and/or in foreclosure proceedings, and the closing of commercial and residential real estate transactions. In addition, the job candidate will handle other matters assigned to him or her by the firm.
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
1. Applicant must be currently licensed to practice law in the State of South Carolina. While not required, an Applicant who is also licensed in Georgia and/or North Carolina is being sought.
2. Applicant must be admitted to practice in state and federal court, including bankruptcy court, in South Carolina.
3. Applicant must have 3 or more years legal experience handling complex commercial real estate transactions and bankruptcy cases.
5. Applicant must be a licensed title insurance agent and an attorney approved by the major title insurance companies to write title insurance in the State of South Carolina.
6. Applicant must be skilled in representing creditors in bankruptcy court.
